Authority is Constructed and Contextual

Definition
Recognition that information resources are drawn from the creators expertise, credibility is based on the information need and context in which information will be used.


This book was published by a lecturer in the Social Work Department at the University of the Western Cape. The book is aimed at the students in the Family and Child Studies module.

Knowledge Practices:
Define different types of authority.
Use research tools and markers
Develop their own authoritative voice.

Activities
Trace the affiliation of the author to the department.(different type of authority)
Write a blog on wordpress.com about two journal publication of the author.(own authoritative voice, licence CC if published on wordpress.com)
Compile a short bibliography of 15 entries of peer reviewed open access sources. (research tools Bowker Ulrich)
